Having survived an unpromising start as a displaced person, Daniel graduates at the top of his class. He excels as a civil servant, survives the palace politics, and goes on to become perhaps the most prominent mandarin of his era. This book takes a keen interest in how Daniel learns and adapts, and especially in what he has to offer us as a managerial role model. Most interestingly, he handles his faith and work in a consistent way. And so, he can move seamlessly from a secular career before the most powerful man in the world, to become a visionary prophet and eventually, to pray one of the most extraordinary intercessory prayers in the Bible. Just as Daniel manages to unify his faith and job in a single life, and just as we receive the story and the visions in a single book, Going Global approaches Daniel's life and ministry as a single piece. It is a fascinating piece from an international administrator about events that stretch way into the future and extend to borders far, far away. Something very important is afoot, and it is all about to go global. Terry Young's parents were missionaries in the Middle East who settled the family in the Midlands in the early '70s. He was educated at the local grammar school, the local sixth form college and then the local redbrick. After 17 years in Essex, working in industry, he and Danielle moved to Berkshire and a new post in academia. His research interests lie in communication and information systems, and have focused on healthcare for the past seven years. Terry and Danielle have a family of three sons and worship at the local Baptist church.
