‘From the moment I started to read the book I was captivated by the honesty and open reflection of the author along with the challenge he lays out for the readers. The book especially challenged and convicted me of how easily I judge others and filter God’s truth through my own biases. This criticism that so easily overtakes my mind is something I would have never likened to that of the Pharisees, yet Hovestol's book challenged my prideful assumptions. This challenging book has humbled me but also reminded me that it's not what I can do to earn God’s approval but what God has done for me so that I can experience his love and be made righteous.’
