One of the unique aspects of the Old Testament is how honestly it portrays the lives of believers.

We see them, ‘warts and all'. We watch them go through marital and family problems. We witness their triumphs and their sins, and we realize that many of their struggles are very similar to our own. Even though they lived thousands of years ago, our lives are really not so different from theirs.

As a result of a period of difficulties in his own life, Anthony Selvaggio began to consider how the lives of Old Testament saints could be used to assist believers today as we journey our way through the maze of this life.

This book is the fruit of that exploration. Here he shares what a select group of these believers can teach us about a variety of common problems ranging from failure to fear, and how we can extract lessons from their lives so that we can better live our own lives. But, above all, he also wants us to see that they all serve as signposts directing us to our glorious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Anthony T. Selvaggio is a Teaching Elder in Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America and a member of the Rochester Reformed Presbyterian Church (Rochester, NY) where he contributes regularly to the preaching and teaching ministry. He previously served as the Senior Pastor of the College Hill Reformed Presbyterian Church (RPCNA) in Beaver Falls, PA. He is also a visiting instructor at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA, and at Ottawa Theological Hall, Ottawa, Canada. He is an active preacher and conference speaker. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University at Buffalo School of Law and his Masters of Divinity from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
