Stephen McQuoid's Recommendation

This interesting little book looks at a variety of questions, 28 in all, that everyday people might ask, and each contributor gives an answer which leads the reader towards the Christian faith. The contributors come from a wide range of backgrounds including science, law, history, bioethics and theology. The questions are also wide ranging, covering issues such as happiness, money, beauty, black lives matter, sex and religions. Typical of many multi author books, some chapters are better than others and there is some repetition. However, the point of the book is to help Christians to bring the issue of faith into everyday conversations and address people’s natural curiosity. That being the case it is a book that will broaden the mind and demonstrate the wide relevance of Christianity. If you are an evangelist and you want some help in improving your approach, this book will certainly help.

Beauty. Justice. Identity. Love. Stories. Nature. Hope. These things intrigue us, move us and prompt us to ask big questions. Could there be clues in our deepest desires that point to life’s meaning? Have You Ever Wondered? invites you on an immersive tour through the issues that matter. This book is for anyone who has looked at a landscape and contemplated why we are drawn to beauty; or wondered why we are so insatiably curious about our universe, or even for those who have simply looked up at a million stars in the vast night’s sky and just wondered. Contributors with backgrounds in science, law, linguistics, theology, bioethics, history, and more, reflect on how their questions have, in some cases unexpectedly, led them to a compelling Christian spirituality and a profound sense of meaning and purpose in life.
