SUbstance is a new and fresh modular youth discipleship resource for 14-18 year olds. This easy-to-use and highly adaptable leaders guide will help users create gripping sessions that will enable a youth group to delve into the Bible. Sessions that will encourage and challenge, engage and equip, allow for times of quiet refl ection and loud debate, laughter, in-depth Bible study and soul searching yet with practical application. Each volume contains ten sessions and a thematic syllabus built around a biblical framework. Volume 6 contains two modules: Authentic Jesus: Why should we trust what we learn about Jesus in the four Gospels over anything else written and said about Jesus over the years? Was Jesus God or man? Is Jesus the only Saviour? This module aims to answer the big questions that young people have about Jesus and how he relates to their lives. We’ll also explore Jesus’ role as a rabbi, his uncomfortable life and message and the signifi cance of his return. Bittersweet life: What’s the point of life? How can I make sense of it? As we journey through Ecclesiastes, we’ll explore what gives life meaning and gain wisdom on living in a world that can be chaotic and hard to understand. At the centre of it all, we’ll discover the Creator God who is the supreme ruler over all he has created.
